ABOUT
Hi! I am an interdisciplinary designer and researcher, focussing on Artificial Intelligence and how it can operate in the field of Art & Design. I was previously schooled as a neuroscientist, and I operate on the intersection of design, art and theoretical research. In my work, I try to connect and integrate insights and methods from different fields of expertise in which human perception and the creative process play a central role. My main topics of interest are Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Human Perception Systems.

Currently, I am a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at the TU Delft as part of the Designing Intelligence Lab. My research focuses on how intelligent systems and artists/designers can creatively work together over extended periods of time. By identifying parts of the creative process that are amenable for AI-input, the aim is to develop new design methods combined in an AI-toolkit. I will actively involve professional artists and designers in my research, and have them collaborate with the lab.
I work for clients as well as for educational institutes. Besides having an autonomous design practice, I am interested in cooperating with art schools and getting to know different forms of art education and practice.
My projects can vary from installations, video work, (academic) writing, photography and sculpture. Currently I am developing a workshop in Machine Learning specifically for students from art schools.
