Bio
I am an artist, designer and researcher working where AI meets craft. I did my PhD at the Designing Intelligence Lab, TU Delft, developing Reflective AI — a design method that approaches image-based AI models not as optimising machines but as a material for reflection. Rather than using off-the-shelf tools, I build and fine-tune my own models and bring them in dialogue with ceramics, writing, and workshops, looking for slower, more intimate ways of making with AI models. This method is described in my dissertation: The Material Gaze – Reflective AI as a Design Practice.
I work with ceramics, do academic research, teach, lecture, develop workshops and I exhibit internationally. In 2025 I received the Dutch Design Award; in 2026 I was named one of Het Financieele Dagblad’s 50 Talents.
